Raspberry Pi claims double the graphics speed of iPhone 4S
While the iPhone 4S is the undisputed, best iPhone to date, that does not mean other companies are just going to sit down and do nothing about the situation. You might have heard of the name Raspberry Pi before – this company churns out micro PCs, and the tech startup has taken off its kids’ gloves now, claiming that their Raspberry Pi machine is capable of outperforming NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 chipset, and will even offer double the iPhone 4S’ performance in a benchmark of its graphical capabilities.
Upton of Raspberry Pi mentioned in a GamesIndustry interview, “To summarise, BCM2835 has a tile mode architecture – so it kills immediate-mode devices like Tegra on fill-rate – and we’ve chosen to configure it with a very large amount of shader performance. So it does very well on compute-intensive benchmarks, and should double iPhone 4S performance across a range of content.” Of course, all of that is just theory, and what matters most would be real life performance.The Legion of Fans grows daily for the Pi and personally i cant wait to sit down and spend a very Long Evening with the Raspberry Pi.

Most Buffalo Link Theater media player where until today pretty lame and
crippled with DRM and other limitations, however today, Buffalo announced
a new generation with the LT-V200, capable to not only support the
usual MPEG-1/2 and WMV9, but also Mpeg-4 AVC/H.264, DivX, Divx HD, FLV
and even Real Video! As far as audio files are concerned, the LT-V200
also support AAC, MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, FLAC, Real Audio, Dolby Digital
and DTS.
But that’s not all, this new Link Theater comes with an internal SATA port and USB port offering you the capacity to turn this little player into a real NAS as well as offering a unique Remote Play function that will allow you to stream, locally, all you content to any Android and iOS based devices.
The LT-V200 will be sold in Japan early February at around 14,000 Yen.

Toshiba`s NEW Android Based e-Book Reader The DB50
Have Recently had the chance to spend some time with Toshibas New E-reader the DB50 and have been impressed so far..hitting Japan first and Hopefully the rest of the world will see it soon..Here's the Low Down.
Toshiba’s new BookPlace or BD50, comes with a nice 7” color touch LED backlight LCD with a WSVGA resolution (600×1024), 8 GB of internal memory (eMMC) and powered by a 1GHz Freescale i.MX535 CPU. Other features includes both WiFi BGN and Bluetooth as well as a USB 2.0 and a microSD Card slot.
The BD50 is said to weight 330g and offer a 7.5h battery life spam in a body of just 11mm thick thin.
Schedule to be put on sale later this February, the DB50 will be compatible with Toshiba’s BookPlace store strong of about 50,000 books and other magazines.

Open webOS 1.0 announced: HP to complete webOS open sourcing by September, Enyo 1.0 and 2.0 code available Now

Following up on its December announcement that it would open source the platform — a last-ditch effort to make it viable — HP has gone into detail today on exactly when and how developers will be getting access to webOS code. The company expects the entire open sourcing process to be complete by September, while Enyo, the application framework that debuted on the touchpad and underpins webOS 3.0, is available as of today along with related developer tools. When open sourcing is complete, the finished product will be known as Open webOS 1.0.
Additionally, HP is releasing a major refresh of Enyo, version 2.0, which starts to make good on HP`S promise that it would continue to "be an active participant and investor in the project." Enyo 2.0's draw is that it's not tied to WebKit — it's fully browser-independent, which means you'll be able to write Open webOS apps that work in Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, and so on. The company says that by taking webOS beyond hardware and letting developers write apps that work natively in any browser, it helps build an ecosystem — and an ecosystem is exactly what the platform needs right now if it has any hope of succeeding.
Beyond today, HP expects major releases roughly every month for the next six or seven months, some of which will make some pretty significant changes to webOS's internals. The biggest might be the switch to the standard Linux kernel — a la Android — which will make it far easier for OEMs and developers to get the platform bootstrapped onto a wider array of hardware thanks to abundant driver availability. The company will be moving to the Apache 2.0 license wherever possible to ease and streamline development and deployment for third parties; HP says that "it provides a legal framework that balances open innovation and a dependable user experience, which is consistent with HP's vision for webOS."
As for existing hardware, it'll be possibly for developers to get Open webOS builds onto their TouchPads over the course of the year, but regular end users — those without hacking chops — can expect an update in "late summer." Surprisingly, HP says that it's "looking" at all webOS devices to see if, when, and how to make Open webOS available for them, so Pre, Pixi, and Veer users of all flavors should keep their hopes up.
