Apple In 'Crunch Mode' Doing Final Preparations For iPad Event
Sources for t.n.w told the site that Apple is now in "crunch mode," trying to get apps ready for the introduction of the Apple iPad 3 early next month. Apple is moving along at an "increased rate," lining up applications to use on the tablet for the on-stage demonstration as well as for commercials getting ready to be filmed for the third-gen Apple tablet. The report says that Apple is concentrating on showing off the Retina display of the device using "graphics-oriented applications with high-definition assets". In other words, the tech titan is seeking apps that will show off the iPad 3's screen.
Apple is also said to be sending apps it is impressed with to the adverting agency, TWBA/Chiat/Day, that is working on the television ads for the Apple iPad 3. The entire process is said to be in the "final stage" and Apple is on a tight deadline for introducing the tablet. Apple usually spends the weeks before an event viewing demonstrations from developers. The Apple iPad 2 used Garage Band, iMovie and Photo Booth to show off the device
As we told you earlier Thursday rumours peg the resolution of the ipad 3`s screen at 2048x 1536 pixels. If that turns out to be true, the pixel density would be 260ppi, well below what is required to be a Retina display, thus contradicting the source for The Next Web.
