About a year after sandboxing Flash Player in
Gogle Chrome,Adobe takes the steps towards bringing the same technology to Mozilla Firefox.
Indeed, they released a public beta for flash Player sandbox, also known as “Flash Player Protected Mode”, designed entirely for Mozilla’s web browser. It should work with versions 4 and higher of the browser, on Windows Vista and above, both 32-bit and 64-bit.
Access to Flash Player Protected Mode for Firefox is available in The latest build of Flash Player Incubator,11.2.300.130
Sandboxing Flash Player has direct security implications, as all files requiring Flash are displayed in an isolated, highly restricted environment. The benefits of this type of protection are touted by the company in the case of Adobe Reader X sandbox, which has been resilient to exploits in the wild since its release, in November 2010.
