High-ups at some of Apple's suppliers have reportedly confirmed to the Wall Street Journal
that the Cupertino giant is considering an 8-inch version of the iPad
and that it has already shown screen designs for the new device.
The officials declined to be named, but did say that Apple was qualifying suppliers for the 8-inch tablet.
Citing one person in particular, the WSJ revealed today that the device will have a similar resolution screen as the
current generation of iPads. Finally, Cupertino is said to be working
with AU Optronics Co. and LG Display Co. to make the screens.
Perhaps this is the iPad 2S we've been hearing about.
To be noted that Apple has, so far, squashed all rumors regarding iPads
with screens smaller than 10-inches. Both iPad versions Apple has
shipped so far use a 9.7-inch display that the company feels is just
right for a tablet experience.
